Product Description
Sometimes IR signals need to be removed from the coax and used locally near a distribution panel like the DA-500HHR/BID or the DA-8200HHR/BID. The way Channel Plus 12-volt IR system works, the IR signals are on the coax and moved through the distribution panel up the coax and then on to a 2010 IR wall plate or a 5500 series modulator with IR outputs. Both the 2010 and 5500 modulator will send the IR signals to connected emitters to repeat the command. But if you need the IR signals before they reach the 2010 or 5500, say to control a local DVD or home automation product, use the 2184 IR break out. The 2184 attaches to the three-pin connector located on a DA-550HHR/BID and the DA-8200BID/HHR panel. At that location power is injected to the DA-550 and IR signals exit on the third pin. The 2184 breaks out the IR that is present on the coax from any one of the 8 target locations possible with a distribution panel. The 2184 has 4 emitter outputs, one three wire connector for long emitter runs and a power input plug for use when the distribution panel is powered locally and not by a 2010 or 5500 series modulator. Cord length is 6 ft.
