    Product Description
The Atlas MNS GPS combines Brunton's award-winning MultiNavigation system with the company's poplar Atlas functionality, helping you navigate through town or across the country. The Atlas MNS speeds through virtually every function thanks to its advanced dual-processor platform and high-resolution display, which is still the largest in the handheld GPS category. Add in a remarkably easy-to-use interface--which includes a one-button StraightHome feature and an easy-scroll cursor--and you have an ideal GPS unit for everything from geocaching to exploring an unfamiliar city.

The 12-parallel-channel, WAAS-enabled navigator comes with a built-in background map of the continental U.S. and Hawaii, but is also expandable via optional Info, World, and Topo MultiMediaCards or MapCreate, MapCreate Topo, and Navionics mapping services. Once the maps have been uploaded onto the Atlas MNS, you'll be able to create 1,000 waypoints, 1,000 event markers, 10 reversible routes, and 100 savable and retraceable plot trails, with up to 10,000 points per trail. It's also easy to save your data thanks to the internal backup memory and the expandable Secure Digital (SD)/MultiMediaCard (MMC) slot.

Of course, GPS navigation is just the tip of the iceberg, as the Atlas MNS also includes a digital compass, barometer, and altimeter. The unit's TrueMagnetic direct-access digital compass points you in the direction of a stored waypoint, so you can easily retrace your hiking path. The StormWatch barometer, meanwhile, displays the current pressure, predicts the next 12 hours of weather, informs you of the daily trends, and offers a 36-hour weather history. Finally, the built-in altimeter displays the precise altitude within 1 meter (3 feet). The combined functions make the Atlas MNS a great hiking aid.

Additional features include 40 map zoom ranges (from 0.02 to 4,000 miles), a 1.7-by-2.2-inch 16-level grayscale LED display with 240 x 180 resolution, and a waterproof/submersible housing. The Atlas MNS measures 2.6 by 5.8 by 1.3 inches (W x H x D), weighs 7 ounces, and runs for up to 12 hours on a pair of AA batteries. It's also backed by a two-year warranty.
